Free iPhone Apps For ChristmasI’m a big kid when it comes to Christmas and it would be rude of (did I say Rudolf!) me not to share this fantastic list from PC Advisor of free iPhone apps to warm your hearts in the run up to Santa’s arrival!

Sleeps to Christmas 2

Countdown the days to December 25th with this free app that offers cute festive-themed animations and even some Christmas carols.

Christmas Shopping iList

Using this free app you can track the gifts you plan on buying as well as monitoring how much it’s costing you to spread festive cheer this year. And with a password protection feature you can ensure no-one can be snooping at your phone in a bid to find out what they’re getting.

Coca-Cola Christmas Snow Globes

You know it’s Christmas once you’ve seen ‘that’ Coca-cola advert. However, Coca-Cola has gone one step further and bought some of their festive magic to your iPhone. This app lets you create a festive snow globe, which you can put yourself or your friends and family in and then add your Christmas wish.

Where is Santa AR lite

This app lets you know where Santa is at particular times during the day/month/year. And the closer you get to Christmas Eve, the closer he gets to you – providing you’ve been good of course!

Grant My Wish

If you think Santa (or your friends and family) need a little help when it comes to suitable presents for you, then the Grant My Wish App could be just the thing. Select a gift experience from the 1,000 available and then invite your friends to make a financial contribution towards the gift to ensure you get what you really want. Furthermore, The app’s ‘Genie’ will even contribute between 10 to 70 percent of the gift’s cost, meaning you could get it a lot sooner than you expected.

iPhone 4S Battery IssuesI guess we should forgive Apple for minor teething problems when new products and updates are released but perhaps a bit more testing wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Not so long ago you had to be left handed or buy a “band aid” to get a signal on the iPhone 4 and now there’s the iPhone 4S battery issues to contend with.  About as much energy as a teenager without their daily dose of Monster Energy I’d say!

The iOS 5.0.1 was supposed to unleash the beast from its shackles but it’s not been the cure that Apple hoped for, despite their statement that:

“The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices,”

Clever use of the word “many” guys, we’d just prefer you to say “all”. It cold be that an further iOS update is due but I’m not sure if I can cope with going through another few hours of downloading.  The irony is that the iPhone 4S would probably run out of power before the update finished (Yeah, I would plug it in to charge but you get the point!).

The problem isn’t unique to Apple of course and it’s something that smartphone manufacturers are going to have to address as technology advances even further.  Are there any phones out that cope with 3G and apps?

How about we just go back to using phones for making calls and socialising by actually meeting our friends in real life!  Now there’s a thought.   Until the World comes to its senses, let’s just hope for another iOS update!
